Disable Apple Software Update and Safari Update

Here's something that was driving me crazy: every day, I would get a pop-up screen called Apple Software Update that would ask if I wanted to update Safari to 3.1, the latest version. Clicking Quit makes the window disappear, but it just re-appears the next day. How annoying! Here's how to get rid of it:

The secret to disabling the Apple Software Update is to check the items you want to get rid of. Then, click on the Tools menu in that window, and click on Ignore Selected Updates...

Apple's software will never bother you again about that update.
