Windows Media Player keeps a history of the media files you play in it. Sometimes this information can be picked up by spyware programs (or Microsoft), or can be seen by other people who use your PC. It's a good idea to clear out and unwanted tracks from Media Player. (If you haven't already, read our tutorial on Editing the Registry) I think with older versions of WMP you have to remove listings from the registry. Click Start>run> type: regedit Click on the + sign next to HKEY_CURRENT_USER and it will expand. Then click software out of the next list and so on until you get to Open windows media player to check and the listing will have gone. Have a question? Need help?
