Sometimes spyware or adware can install programs on your PC that make it impossible for you to connect to the Internet reliably. This malicious software is known as a Layered Service Provider, and can be fixed using a wonderful utility called LSP-Fix. If your PC is having problems connecting to the Internet, download this program: LSP-Fix (alternate download site). Save LSPFix to a floppy disk, and bring it to the PC which is having problems. 1. Download and run lspfix 2. If there are any files in the "remove" side make a note of their name, and exit the program with the "X" in the top right hand corner do NOT click finish - post back and tell us the names. 3. If there are no programs on the right hand side, then click Finish.
If you still can't connect to the internet ... write down the list of the files LSP-Fix finds and post a new topic in the Get Computer Help section.
